Some of you may have noticed that I changed my username at long last.
For any of those curious to know my full reasoning, get comfortable.
As I mentioned in a previous journal:
I still love Warriors, don't get me wrong, and I am still proud to be a fan, but it is not by any means the only book series or fandom that I love, and a username is a statement. It is your name to the people of this website - and while, like I said, I am not ashamed of liking Warriors - I don't want to be pinned to just one. When I first joined the site, Warriors was my primary reason for belonging here. After three years, though, I feel like that isn't my main tie to dA anymore. It is a strong one, yes. But I have amazing friends, watch people for art besides solely Warriors, roleplay, groups... some of the same ties.
It goes farther than that for me, though. One thing that I routinely notice in myself in many aspects of my life is that I am very, very hesitant to change; even moreso to actually take that big leap and make a big change. And while this isn't exactly "big," it was meaningful. After three years, the name Warriors-horse was very sentimental to me. Talking to Lithestep
in chat tonight, however, she told me the thing I guess I needed to hear, or remind myself of: the bonds I have with my friends here are not going to change and are not reliant on a username. They are with the people.
So, fresh into 2015, I changed it to Teahorse. I do hope you guys like it. Same old horse, I promise.
Thanks guys. <3
